The Wall St. Journal published its latest forecast on Wednesday for “Penny Darkness,” the upcoming second season of the cult hit series.
The show, which has aired in its current format since 2005, will premiere this fall.
The forecast is for a $35 million to $40 million second season, based on a $6.4 million to 7.4% increase in ticket sales.
“The show is performing well in the marketplace, particularly among millennials,” said Chris W. Smith, senior media analyst for the Journal.
“We think this will be a pretty strong second season for ‘Pixie’ and will be the show to beat in the future.”
“Pixie” was a breakout hit for the CW in 2013, starring Emily Mortimer, Kaitlin Olson and Olivia Wilde, and earned a Golden Globe nomination for best drama series in 2013.
“Parks and Recreation” was canceled last year and “The Walking Dead” ended its run in October.
The second season was produced by HBO, which will produce the third season.
“Walking Dead” is expected to return in 2020.
In January, the network confirmed that “Pineapple Express” would not return for a second season.
A third season has not been announced, but the series has been a hit with critics and audiences.
