James, LeBron and company have been to New York and Los Angeles in the past two seasons, respectively, but they’ve not faced off against the Pelicans since LeBron returned to the NBA in 2016.
The Cavs’ trip is a first for the team as it travels to a brand new arena that will also feature a new scoreboard and new sound system.
The new arena will replace the Astrodome, which closed last season after 20 seasons.
The team will wear white jerseys in New Orleans as it prepares to host the Pelicans.
The Cavaliers will wear the orange uniforms they wore during their first visit to New Jersey on April 14, 2017, when they lost 104-94 to the Nets.
James has been a frequent visitor to New New Orleans since returning to the city, which hosted his first All-Star Game in 2021.
He played a season-high 51 minutes against the Hornets, but did not score.
The Pelicans have been known to play on the New Orleans road, with teams traveling to play the visiting teams.
This season, they’ve only faced off one time at home.
James and company face the Pelicans again this week, as they’ll host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET.
